According to Amira, the Acutonics Healing system is an “energy-based, non-invasive treatment that is similar to acupuncture that connects you with your body’s meridian and chakra energy systems.”
The Treatment
Lying on my tummy on a comfortable massage table, I closed my eyes and was immediately surrounded by the organic tones of the Sun, Earth, Moon, Zodiac and of course, Ohm. To create the tones, Amira used precision-calibrated tuning forks by gently striking the tuning forks against an Acutonics Acuvator — a specially designed device, strapped to her thigh.
The sound first captured me as the tones from the forks washed over my body, surrounding and engulfing, while quieting the inner noisy voices that remind me of my daily grind. The tones are known as “The Music of Spheres,” the mystical and eternal kinship between music and the human soul, and is the underlying ideology of Acutonics.
Attributed to Amira’s energy, the atmosphere was alive, engulfed in white, healing light — the catalyst through which all flows. Once the forks were placed firmly and strategically against my body, the vibrations were surprisingly powerful, rippling throughout each area with a distinct purpose, massaging deep within my body’s tissues, actually causing the liquids in my body to vibrate. According to Amira, “These vibrations are known to travel deeper than acupuncture or acupressure because sound is a stronger, more penetrating force than pressure alone.”
The applied forks followed the meridians of my body, beginning with my ears; then feet for grounding; and down my arms, legs, length of my spine and top of my head. I sensed a weightless, floating sensation. The troubles and stress that I walked in with that afternoon did not follow me out. I left feeling rejuvenated, calm, and thankfully void of those aches and pains that have irritated my daily life.
